Neurofibromas discriminators

  1. usually found in cutaneous nerves
  2. fascicles separated and intimately involved with tumor
  3. are composed of Schwann cells, fibroblasts and collagen
  4. present as a well-defined hypodense mass with minimal or no contrast enhancement on CT
  5. On MRI, they usually are T1 hypointense and T2 hyperintense with heterogeneous contrast enhancement.
  6. if multiple association with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1)
