Taurus

Ruler:  Venus
Venus has a resonance with Taurus, a sign denoting the appreciation of the natural and physical world. Those with Venus in Taurus may enjoy indulging themselves in pleasurable physical experiences, and their sense of their own beauty may be rooted in a powerful relationship to the body. However, the desire to indulge and enjoy life may take precedence over other concerns, since Venus is considered ‘strong’ in this sign.

 Exaltation:  Moon      
Traditionally a powerful and positive placement, indicating the importance of the body’s rhythmic functioning and an appreciation of slow organic cycles of growth and change. Functioning excessively however, there can be a tendency towards inertia, marked self-gratification and possessiveness.

 Detriment:   Mars       
In Taurus, the inertia of this fixed earth sign is a challenge to the dynamic energy of Mars, so that results are unlikely to appear quickly. On the other hand, this placement can lead individuals to develop the determination to assert and defend themselves, and the strength to resist coercion and to stick to their values.
